The Butterfly Effect: How Little Changes Can Help You Win at Life

If you’re yet to figure out your purpose in life, did you know the butterfly effect could help you with that? The butterfly effect is a theory that dates back to the 60s. It states that even minor changes in life can make a huge change―just the way a butterfly’s flutter in one part of the world can cause a tornado in another.

This theory can be the key to winning life. If you’re wondering how, you’ve come to the right place.

Ghana’s first skeleton Olympian has shed some light on this connection.

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Succeeding in life takes time and extreme dedication. However, when you try to achieve success, little by little, things get simpler.

Most people don’t realize that success isn’t a race; it’s not about who gets it first. Instead, it’s a journey about you—you’ll grow, fall, learn, and get back.

When you make small changes and work at a slow pace, you prepare yourself for victory.

Achieve Smaller Goals

Keeping your eyes on the prize is essential, but you have to think about the little things. When you accomplish small goals, you eventually tick off all goals that lead to the bigger picture. So, the more goals you complete, the closer you get to your aim.

These little aims can be simple; it doesn’t have to be huge accomplishments, but they should make a difference. For instance, improve your sleep schedule, work out daily, eat healthy, engage in mindfulness-based activities, etc.

Following them consistently can offer drastic results.

The Little Things Keep You Grounded

When people are just dedicated to working towards their passion, they lose sight of how far they’ve come. Not to forget, they get exhausted by constantly working to become who they want to be. That phase can be challenging for the best of people.

However, when you start making little changes, you notice a much bigger change overall. Those little changes can help you regain your motivation and keep you grounded.

As I’ve mentioned, I’m Ghana’s first skeleton Olympian, and my name is Akwasi Frimpong. I’ve had a challenging journey. Generally, athletes start running when they’re very young, but that wasn’t the case with me. I started when I was 15, but I kept making little changes and worked hard.

That’s what made me who I am. I’m also an athlete motivational speaker. I’ve groomed young athletes, helping them find their purpose and working to achieve it.
