While most people credit a significant portion of their success to luck, I, Akwasi Frimpong, would argue that a healthy routine also plays a central role. It did for me when I became Ghana’s first Skeleton Olympic athlete in 2018.
A routine for success is crucial as it allows you to improve daily habits. It keeps you focused and on track to accomplish your goals. Read on as I highlight some ways routine helps you succeed and why this winning habit should be your top priority.
Allow You to Manage Stress More Effectively
Stress is one of the biggest obstacles on your path to success. It can also adversely affect your physical and mental health, making you vulnerable to illnesses like heart disease and depression. Establishing a routine can reduce stress, which has a positive effect on your health and well-being. When you’re fit, you’ll work toward your goal in a better way.
Increases Productivity
When you have a routine in place, you give equal time to all aspects of your life, whether it’s your health, nutrition, sleep, exercise, or relationships. A healthy work-life balance is crucial for success. Otherwise, you’ll struggle most of the time, wondering how to spend your time in the best way possible.
Helps You Stay Organized and Focused
Finally, one of the best things a daily routine does is it helps you stay organized and focused. It’s very easy to lose sight of your goals and get distracted, especially if you have been on this journey for a long time. Therefore, having a routine helps you keep things together and sorted.
After I achieved my dream of being Ghana’s first Skeleton Olympic athlete representing Africans in the Winter Olympics, I started a movement called Hope of A Billion to inspire all the dreamers out there. Let this year be one of positive change by adopting winning habits in 2023.
