I’ve learned throughout my journey as an Olympic athlete, entrepreneur, and philanthropist that talent exists everywhere, but opportunity doesn’t always follow. My journey taught me what determination can accomplish when someone believes in you. Today, through Hope Of A Billion (HOAB), my wife and I are working to make sure children from underserved communities around the world have the support they need to discover their potential. We believe opportunities for kids should never depend on where they were born or what their families can afford.

Sport Builds Confidence and Resilience

Sport has shaped my life in ways that go far beyond competition. When I first started pursuing skeleton racing, I faced challenges that seemed impossible at times. I learned to keep moving forward, trust myself, and understand that setbacks are part of growth. I want children to experience those same lessons through Hope Of A Billion. Our sports-inspired programs encourage kids to participate, challenge themselves, and discover what they can accomplish. Whether they’re learning teamwork, building confidence, or simply trying something new, every experience can become a stepping stone. These opportunities for kids help them develop resilience and understand that their circumstances don’t define their future.

Business Creates Possibilities Beyond the Classroom

As an entrepreneur and businessman, I understand the importance of developing practical skills and learning how to turn ideas into action. Children deserve opportunities to explore their interests, think creatively, and understand how their talents can contribute to their communities. Through HOAB, we want to encourage young people to see themselves as future entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders. Business education and essential-skills development can help children recognize their strengths, solve problems, and build confidence in their decisions. I believe opportunities for kids should include the freedom to imagine different careers and the guidance to start working toward those dreams.

Education Helps Dreams Become Reality

Education gives children knowledge, perspective, and the confidence to make informed choices. But learning becomes even more meaningful when children have encouragement, mentorship, and practical experiences that connect their interests with future possibilities. That’s why Hope Of A Billion brings sport, education, and personal development together. We want children in underserved communities across the globe to understand that their dreams matter and that they have the ability to pursue them. For me, creating opportunities for kids means helping them recognize their potential and giving them the motivation and resources to become tomorrow’s leaders.

I founded Hope Of A Billion with my wife to help children from underserved communities across the globe realize their potential and become future leaders through our programs. As Ghana’s first skeleton athlete, I know how powerful encouragement and access can be in changing a young person’s future. I’m honored that our work has been featured on the Olympics’ official Instagram alongside legends and icons like Usain Bolt, Magic Johnson, and many more.
